Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about tests, accounts and the Mistake Bank.
Which trial tests are available?
NAPLAN Year 3 and Year 5 (Reading, Writing, Language Conventions and Numeracy), the OC Placement Test (Reading, Mathematical Reasoning and Thinking Skills) and the Selective High School Placement Test (Reading, Mathematical Reasoning, Thinking Skills and Writing).
Do I need an account?
Not to get started. The Free Sample and practice sets work without an account. An account saves your child's results and builds their Mistake Bank and Progress.
How much does Fancy Edu cost?
Every exam has a free plan, plus Monthly and Complete Pass options. The Pricing page lists the prices for each exam in Australian dollars. Payments open soon.
What are coins and the farm?
Coins are a virtual reward for learning that can be spent on a farm of plants and decorations. They have no real-world value. The Rewards page shows a sample farm for now, and earning coins opens soon.
How does the Mistake Bank work?
Every question answered incorrectly in a trial test is saved to the Mistake Bank for that test. You can review mistakes by subject and practise them again until they are mastered.
How long should my child study each day?
Short, regular sessions work best. Around 15 to 20 minutes suits younger students, building up to 30 to 45 minutes for older students preparing for OC or Selective tests.
What devices can I use?
Fancy Edu works in any modern web browser on a computer, laptop, tablet or phone.
