NAPLAN Year 3
NAPLAN Year 3 checks the literacy and numeracy skills students have built in the early years of primary school. Our practice tests follow the same four areas, so the real test feels familiar.
What's covered
- Reading: Comprehension and reading confidence.
- Writing: Sentence building and clear expression.
- Language Conventions: Spelling, grammar and punctuation.
- Numeracy: Number sense, problem solving and maths skills.
How to prepare
- Keep sessions short and regular. Fifteen to twenty minutes is plenty at this age.
- Read together every day and talk about what happened in the story and why.
- Practise writing a few sentences about a picture or a favourite day out.
- Try a full practice test in the last few weeks so the format feels familiar.
Learn from every test
After each practice test, open the NAPLAN Year 3 Mistake Bank. Review the questions you missed, try them again, and watch them move from "To Review" to "Mastered".
