Reading passage
Nina’s red kite flew higher and higher above the oval. Suddenly, the wind stopped. The kite drifted down and landed on the roof of the school hall.
Nina’s shoulders dropped. “I saved up for that kite,” she said quietly.
Mr Tran, the caretaker, fetched his long ladder. A few minutes later, he climbed back down with the kite under his arm. Nina smiled for the first time since lunch.
